Hello everyone!

The school year is passing very quickly and we are heading towards the end of term 2. P.5/6 continue to work very hard and are making good progress across all areas of the curriculum.

In Numeracy we have been concentrating on learning our times tables. We have also been working on two essential life skills - money and telling the time.

In Literacy, we have been focusing on Recount writing and how to write a letter. We continue to develop our reading skills using Accelerated Reading. We were delighted that the first ‘AR millionaire’ was in our class! We have been focusing in writing direct speech and thinking carefully about the words we use when writing a sentence to make our writing more interesting.

Our topic this term is World War 2. We were really interested to learn how many children were evacuated from the cities and went to live in the countryside. We made identity cards, gas masks and painted pictures of air raid attacks.

We have also enjoyed celebrating Shrove Tuesday and World Book Day.
