Welcome to Term 2 in Primary 3 & 4!

We have a 'marvellous' term ahead! From concocting bubbly potions to walking in the footsteps of giants, P3 and P4 are diving into a world of imagination, investigation, and outdoor discovery.

This term, we are focusing on two of Roald Dahl’s most iconic (and slightly disgusting!) stories: George’s Marvellous Medicine and The Twits. We’ll be exploring his wicked sense of humour and the unforgettable characters he created. We are also learning to become master storytellers! Our writing journey will involve:

The Features of Narrative: Learning how to hook a reader, build suspense, and create a satisfying ending.

Creating Our Own Marvellous Medicine: Inspired by George, we will be writing our own narrative adventures centred around a secret, magical concoction. What will yours do?

Our World Around Us topic is Dinosaurs, and we will be getting ready to travel back millions of years! We are transforming our classrooms into a prehistoric world to learn about fierce carnivores and giant herbivores, how fossils are formed and what they tell us and the incredible environments where dinosaurs once roamed.

This term we are focusing on Logic Problems. The children will be developing their critical thinking by learning how to recognise and find clues to help them solve the problem and work together to find systematic ways to solve tricky challenges.

We believe that learning should be an adventure! We love to explore and play, and we take every opportunity to bring our lessons outside. Whether we are hunting for "dinosaur bones" in the wild or measuring ingredients for a messy outdoor potion, our outdoor learning sessions are a highlight of the week.
