Welcome to P1!

What a start we have made to our new term. This year we have welcomed 18 new Primary 1 children to our class and what a great bunch they are. We have big things planned this year and these are just the kids to do it! 

We started the year with lots of outdoor play and in true N.I style the sun came out for us returning to school. We have been building relationships, learning our class routines and taking part in lots of hands on learning. Through our PATHS programme we have made special buddies with the P7 children. These relationships will blossom throughout the year as they take part in a wide range of activities together.

Our topic this term is A Time to Rhyme. We have created beautiful themed artwork and we’re in the middle of creating a massive double decker display with all of us on it for The Wheels on the Bus display. These rhymes play a huge part in our Literacy development. 

In Numeracy we have started work on early number which we have loved to link to our outdoor learning. We have been working on pattern and will be investigating length in the coming weeks.
